The boots look great and seem to be well made . They are Asolos after all.I realy like the lacing system and overall fit.The foot bed is a bit thin but I usually switch them out anyway. As a matter of fact, I decided on using the Soft Sole Athlete foot beds I purchased from REI.I ended up cutting the cupped section off, along the back part of the asolo foot beds, and then set the new Soft Sole beds right on top .Double the cushion.I have since worn the boots on several long walks, mostly on concrete and have found them to be very comfortable.I specifically bought the asolos for a backpacking trip in the southern Utah desert this coming April.I like that they are light weight but yet have enough support for carrying a backpack over rough terrain for several days.I can hardly wait to put them to the real test this coming spring.I have no doubt that I made the right decision on the Asolo Terrain boots.Asolo are the BEST on market. I have 3 pairs and they’re superb in every wayNice boot, Very comfortable Fit well with a heavy pair of socks After a couple of weeks the sole is making a popping noise Very annoyingVery light weight and all that implies. Little if any support in sole or upper. Maybe even too light for light day hike. Definitely would not carry a pack. That said, great for everyday wear where we live—mid northern latitude with four distinct seasons. Albeit a bit expensive for that. Would not recommend for hiking. Ok for walking or light field work. Would not buy again.I bought these boots to use as my daily hikers. They are light, waterproof (have walked right through streams) and surprisingly good as far as support goes. They have a vibram outsole with semi-aggressive lugs that hold firm on slick surfaces and perform very well on/off trail. I really like the boots. I did get a blister on my left heel from the first few wears, but since then they have broken in nicely and are very comfortable. If you are looking for a light hiker, I recommend these.Light hikingGreat everyday shoe, a little wide in the toe area compared to other Asolo. Great tread, I use them for an occasional tree climb prune as well at work. The size seems to be a little large but overall a comfortable boot. great sticky soles.
